A local woman was arrested on several drug charges after a traffic stop.
Columbus police stopped an SUV at 1:25 a.m. Friday after they observed the driver, Tausha N. Hendren, 27, Columbus, disregard a stop sign at 14th and California streets, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus police department spokesman.
A police canine was requested and the dog alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from Hendren’s vehicle, Harris said.
Officers searched the SUV and found heroin, pills and other drug paraphernalia, Harris said. Hendren was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of heroin, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, jail officials said.
