Maudie V. Medaris, 82, of Columbus, passed away at 6:48 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at her home.

Maudie was born January 22, 1936, in Somerset, Kentucky, the daughter of Herbert and Frances Tull Lovins.

Her first husband, Bill DeBord, preceded her in death on August 8, 1990.

On May 3, 1993, she married William Medaris.

Mrs. Medaris was a member of the 25th Street Church of Christ for many years.

She loved country music and playing the guitar.

She was a hard worker who would put others first.

Maudie was compassionate and giving.

She loved her entire family.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, William; children, Patricia (Edward) Snow of Jamestown, Kentucky, Tony (Debbie) DeBord of Seymour, Kenny (Christy) DeBord of Columbus, DeeDee (Scott) Haymaker and Barry (Tonia) Medaris, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Mark (Lisa) Bush of Tampa, Florida, Brian (Elizabeth) DeBord of Freetown, Chad (Tracy) DeBord of Columbus, Brett (Melissa) DeBord of Brownstown, Shawn (Billie) Morris of Seymour, Raymond (Nikki) Snow of Prospect, Kentucky, Deanna Garrity of Norman, Jason (Lisa) DeBord of St. Louis, Missouri, Justin (Kasey) DeBord of Greenwood; 20 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandson, Logan DeBord; brothers, Ed (Bonnie) Lovins of Somerset, Kentucky, Ralph ( Lucia) Lovins of Murphy, Kentucky, Gary (Sherry) Lovins of Brown County; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William DeBord; daughter, Mallary Mitchell, and son, Dwight DeBord.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Jim Atkins officiating. Family and friends may call Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
