The Hayden Historical Museum will recognize the agricultural heritage of the town by hosting Hayden’s Harvest Past on Saturday.

The Hayden museum grounds will open at 9.

Featured attractions at the free event include:

The Brian Vaughn Memorial Steam Engine and Antique Tractor Show.

The Luke Elsner Memorial 5K Run/Walk, with the starting point at the Hayden school parking lot. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the race starts at 8. The entry fee is $25.

A peddle tractor obstacle course throughout the day for the youngsters, and a peddle tractor mobile museum.

Blacksmith demonstrations.

A pie baking contest. Contestants can bring one or more fruit pies to be judged to the museum kitchen between 9 and 11 a.m. Judging begins at 11. The top three pies will be auctioned at 11:45 in the pavilion. All other entries will be sliced and offered in exchange for a free-will donation.

Tractor games in the east yard at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Spencer Township Volunteer Fire Department’s annual chicken barbecue. Dinners served at noon and during the day. A half chicken, two sides, a dinner roll and a drink costs $8. Carry-out orders available.

Live music is planned on the pavilion stage, including a bluegrass show in the afternoon.

Southern Indiana Model Railroad Association’s display in the museum’s meeting room.
