In their season openers, the Columbus North Bull Dogs came from behind to defeat Seymour 34-19 and the Columbus East Olympians stifled Greenwood 52-0.

Delta Faucet Co. announced it would auction Castalia, the late Elsie Irwin Sweeneys’ Harrison Lake mansion, which the company had owned and used for corporate retreats and training seminars for nine years.

1968

The Mahan Ford softball team won the slow pitch softball regional tournament in Detroit, becoming the first ever Indiana team to advance to the finals, and began a fund-raising drive to finance a trip to the World Slow Pitch Softball Tournament in Long Island, New York.
