We all want to know the truth for certain. We wish the difference between truth and lies was as clear as the old-time cowboy movies where the good guy wore a white hat and the bad guy wore black.
Well, good news. You are now being asked to choose between the honesty and accuracy of Bob Woodward and that of Donald Trump. Choices really don’t get much simpler than that.
Woodward is no doubt imperfect; he’s human. But he’s famous for being careful with facts and accurate with quotes. He takes notes, makes recordings and double-checks everything. Simply put, Woodward has spent a long professional career getting it right. No one, other than first Richard Nixon and now Donald Trump, has called Bob Woodward a liar.
Donald Trump, on the other hand, has built a long career on lies and deceit. Has been called a liar by his wives, his partners, his employees, his peers and just about everyone else he’s ever known. He double speaks, doubles down and double crosses. But he never double checks because he has no allegiance to the truth. And you know it.
So, there it is, the obvious truth you asked for, the white hat and the black. Which will it be? Can you set aside color and clan and the clamor of the crowd around you to vote for truth? Or, in the end, will you side with endless comfortable lies?
Now, when democracy hangs in the balance, do you vote for truth, justice and they American way, or are you gonna hang with Lex Luthor over there?
