Windell A. Biles, 76, of Columbus, died at 9:13 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Windell was born February 5, 1942, in Monroe County, Kentucky, the son of Clarence and Pearl Eakle Biles.
He retired from Arvin Industries after more than 35 years of service.
Windell was an avid hunter and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed tinkering with various home improvement projects.
Survivors include his children, Lisa (Gary) Foster of North Vernon, Adam (Jim) Hubbard of Winter Haven, Florida, and Sarah (Michael) Ferguson and Andrew Biles, both of Columbus; grandchildren, April Foster, Ariana and Alaura Ferguson and Kaylee Hubbard; sisters, Joan (Russell) Cherry of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Gayle (Joey) Reeves of Carthage, Tennessee and Betty (Billy) Spivey of Lafayette, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth Eugene Biles, Clarence Earl Biles and sister, Helen Eckert.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Sue Smith officiating. Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Following the family’s wishes, cremation will take place following the service.
