Lavergne M. Archer, 92, went home to be with the Lord on September 13, 2018 at her home in Monroe, N.C. where she had been a resident for the past year.
Born on October 17, 1925 in Princeton, Kentucky, Lavergne was a beautiful and talented lady who was loved by all who knew her.
During World War II, she volunteered with the Red Cross as a “Grey Lady” helping tend the wounded.
Her favorite career memory was teaching kindergarten at Happy Times School in Cliffwood Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Georgia.
Lavergne and George home based often out of Columbus, Indiana, because of Cummins Engine Co., as well as living many places overseas before finally retiring to Largo, Florida, for 34 years.
Lavergne is survived by her daughter, Janice Kekuaokalani, son, Franc Archer (Angela); grandsons Palani Kekuaokalani, Nick and Jordan Archer; and great-grandsons Alika and Tyler Kekuaokalani.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James J. Madden (1916-1954), and her second husband, George C. Archer (1921-1997).
Graveside ceremony will take place at Bay Pines Veteran Cemetery in Largo, Florida, where she will be interred with late husband, George C. Archer.
