Ronald K. Rhoades, 65, of Columbus, passed from this life Saturday, October 6, 2018 at his home.
Ronald was born December 10, 1952, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Ronald L. Rhoades and the late Alberta Evelyn Messer Rhoades.
Ronald’s true passion in life was music. He was a master mandolin player, wrote his own music and has played in many bands through the years.
He was a pilot and a former roofing contractor and fluently spoke five or six different languages.
Ronald is survived by his father, Ronald L. Rhoades of Columbus; his step-sisters, Patricia Spears of Orlando, Florida and Joyce Devine of Sevierville, Tennessee; a step-brother, Larry (Janet) Spears of Brown County, Indiana; a niece, Ali McCaghren of Orlando, Florida; and several cousins.
Ronald was preceded in death by his mother; his step-mother, Velma E. Rhoades; and his sister, Linda Rhoades.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Reverend Stormy Scherer-Berry officiating.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ronald will be laid to rest at the Garland Brook Cemetery.
