I am writing in support of the candidacy of Ryan Lauer for state representative District 59. I believe he has the public service experience and proven leadership to represent District 59 better than the other candidates for this office.
Ryan has served Bartholomew County in a number of ways over the years, serving on the Bartholomew County Council (including as president in 2014), as a member of the Community Corrections Advisory Board, and member of the Sheriff’s Merit Board. Other community activities include president of his church council, co-chair of Uncommon Cause (2012) and math mentor at CSA-Lincoln school.
He has exhibited leadership in each of these activities – not just participation. While on the county council, the county tax rate was reduced by 4 percent while increasing veteran’s services and adding two additional law enforcement officers. This was done by careful budget management with emphasis on efficiency and “what’s really important." An example of this budget management is that he cut his own council pay. He leads fiscal responsibility by example.
Ryan will take a conservative approach to solving the major issues affecting Bartholomew County: budget management and taxes, support for veterans and law enforcement, the opioid epidemic, education, jobs and business environment, reduction of excessive bureaucracy and regulation.
He is pro-life and believes that the rights under the Second Amendment should be protected.
He will be the voice that will follow through on his promises.
I hope others will check out the qualifications and records of each of the candidates for this office, and if you do I believe that you will agree with me that Ryan Lauer is the best candidate for state representative District 59.
