Columbus police arrested a local man on multiple charges relating to domestic battery after a disturbance was reported.
Officers were sent to the 3100 block of 15th Street at 7:10 a.m. Sunday about a report that a woman had been cut by a knife during an argument.
Police located Chester D. Sidwell, 53, Columbus, walking nearby, and after talking with him, placed him under arrest, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics, Harris said.
Sidwell was arrested on preliminary charges of battery with a deadly weapon, domestic battery, strangulation and a Bartholomew County warrant, Harris said.
