COLUMBUS
Velma Marie Beaver Lovins, 77, of Columbus, passed from this life at 2 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Mrs. Lovins was born September 7, 1941 in Jackson County, Indiana, the daughter of Ralph Edward and Alice Marie Zike Beaver. In March 1962, Velma married Ronald W. Lovins; he survives.
A homemaker, Mrs. Lovins had great interest in reading, puzzles, gardening, floriculture and canning.
Mrs. Lovins is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ronald; sons, Donald W. Lovins and his wife, Teresa of Columbus and Rick D. Lovins of Columbus; grandchildren, Roth Lovins, Samuel Lovins, Matthew Lovins and Abigail Lovins all of Columbus; sisters, Helen Cole and Sandra Nash both of Georgia; brother, Robert Beaver of Freetown; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Lovins was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald W. Lovins II; and sisters, Vera Lee Clark and Dorcas Peacock.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Lonny Goen officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday.
Burial will be at Ohio Chapel Cemetery.
