Rick B. Lawson, 65, of Shelbyville, passed from this life on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at his residence. Born, November 19, 1953, in Columbus, he was the son of Ben and Dorothy (Murray) Lawson.
He attended Northside Junior High School, and graduated from Columbus High School in 1972.
Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife, Catherine, of Shelbyville, a daughter, Willow S. Lawson (by his first wife, Anita Klinglesmith) and Willow’s husband, Dan Aibel; grandchildren, Sonja E. Aibel and Max H. Aibel, all of Brooklyn, NY; daughters, Julia M. Dunlap of Brown County; and Alison B. (Dale) Likens of Columbus; grandchildren, Vanessa Staublin of Indianapolis; Tristan Likens and Carson Likens of Brown County; Neal Likens and Jerry Likens of Columbus; brothers, Sam D. Lawson and Randy J. (Peggy) Lawson, both of Columbus; nephews Jon C. (Olsa) Lawson; Paul J. (Shay) Lawson, Benjamin M. (Jessica) Lawson, and Tyler J. Lawson; nieces, LeAnn (Chris) Hubbell, Wanda (Jeremy) Carter; and Jessica A. (Greg) Linneweber; grand-nieces Tatem R. Lawson, Oceana Carter and Isabella S. Hubbell; grand-nephews, Lucas Teddy Lee Lawson, and Shepard G. Linneweber; great-granddaughter, Jessica Likens and Goddaughter, Nora K Rife and a host of Aunts and Uncles.
Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Rufus and Quinnie B. Lawson and Clurie and Vella C Murray.
As per Mr. Lawson’s wishes there will be no viewing or funeral service. A private family graveside service will be held in Garland Brook Cemetery.
Arrangements are handled by Murphy-Parks Funeral Services.
