Southside Elementary, Central Middle School

What’s your favorite class or part of the school day and why?

History. I enjoy learning what happened in the past, things that made our country what it is and the bad things that happened, so it will not repeat itself.

In which extracurricular activities do you participate?

Sidekicks, cheerleading, Unified Track, HOSA-Future Health Professionals organization and dance (ballet, lyrical duet with my brother James) PAAL cheerleading, Columbus Fireman’s Cheer Fund and 5K races with my mom.

When you’re not in school, what’s your favorite place to be and why?

My favorite place is being outside at home. It is an oasis for me.

What has been your greatest high school memory so far and why?

Being in the CNHS Dog Pound Cheer block at the North/East varsity soccer game, when there was a glitch with the music for the National Anthem. They took a moment of silence and they were going to start the game. Then a few of us starting singing our National Anthem, and all the parents and Columbus East Cheer block joined in. It was awesome. I was so proud of our school for standing and singing without being told to do so.

What are you looking forward to after graduation?

Starting my career in the medical world. I plan to be a nurse practitioner.

Who in your life has inspired you or whom do you look up to and why?

Many people — my Poppie Dayhoff, for going through a lot growing up and now, he is always happy. My mom, for being a strong woman and teaching me to be strong mentally and physically, especially how to protect myself. My dad, he is really smart in the medical field. He encourages me and explains things so I understand them better.

What is the most important thing you’ve learned during, or from, high school?

I have learned to have time management and patience.
