COLUMBUS
Scott Lane, 51, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly at 6:14 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at home.
Scott was born July 5, 1967, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Robert Scott and Judy Janes.
He served in the United States Army from 1985 until 1988 and was honorably discharged. Scott enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. His passion for jogging earned him the title “fitness guru” by family members. He liked to attend car races in Indianapolis and loved to spend time with his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his mother, Judy Lane; sisters, Stacia Lane of Taylorsville, Betsy (Matthew) Lane-Haynes of Bloomington; nieces and nephews, William Maggard III, Catelyn Hooton, Jace Lane, Liliana Secundino, Miguel Secundino, Adelen Secundino, Oliver Haynes, Isabella Haynes, Matthew Haynes, Autumn Haynes, Alaina Haynes; grandmother, Mary White of Scipio; step-mother, Vicki Lane of Louisiana; cousins, Brian, Cindy, Doug, Melissa and Eric along with several aunts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; grandfather, Willie Janes and cousin, J.C. Calhoun.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
