In an effort to increase efficiency, control operating costs and keep mail affordable, all 50 city mail routes were realigned and adjusted to have carriers travel in more efficient patterns.

After several days of far-below-zero readings, weather forecasters called for temperatures to rise into the mid-teens and schools that had closed to protect students from the dangerous weather were expected to reopen.

A petition with more than 500 signatures of Taylorsville area property owners was presented to Bartholomew County Commissioners supporting the installation of automatic flasher signals at the Penn Central Railroad tracks on Tannehill Road just east of U.S. 31, where an average of 2,900 vehicles crossed every day.
