President Trump was right when he walked out of the border wall meeting with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. Staying would have been a waste of his time. Democrats even rejected a luncheon invitation from President Trump to discuss the government shutdown. They have no interest in negotiating, securing the border or considering the facts.
Here are some facts they should consider:
In 2014 President Obama, NBC, CBS, The Washington Post and The New York Times acknowledged there was a humanitarian crisis at the border. In 2019 it has suddenly become a “manufactured” crisis, per the liberal media and prominent Democrats. Sen. Kamala Harris called it “a vanity project.”
Family arrests at the southern border broke the record for the fourth month in a row in December.
On Jan. 9, 2019, in McAllen, Texas, there were 133 people from 41 different countries other than Mexico and Central America who were detained, including Pakistan, China, India and Romania.
In 2018, through November, a record number of illegal aliens attempted to buy guns but were prevented from doing so by the FBI. A total of 7,836,600 were rejected.
In October, 2018 there was a 300 percent increase from a year earlier in the number of family units attempting to cross the border illegally in McAllen, Texas.
When asking for asylum, the term “credible fear” will get you into the U.S. In 2006 only 5 percent of those seeking asylum used those words, but that jumped to 39 percent in 2016. Migrants have learned how to beat our system.
The number of ICE arrests between 2017-2018 included 100,000 assaults, 30,000 sex crimes and 4,000 homicides.
Illegal drugs seized at the border between January and August, 2018 included 47,945 pounds of cocaine, 4,813 pounds of heroin, 283,084 pounds of marijuana, 67,292 pounds of methamphetamine and 1,357 pounds of Fentanyl (through July).
Between 2011-2018, there were 186,000 illegal aliens booked in Texas for a total of 292,000 crimes.
In 2014, 297,000 babies were born in the U.S. to parents who were in the country illegally. In 1980 that number was 30,000.
Illegal aliens who are smuggled across our border pay an average of $5,000 per person. The cost of applying for U.S. citizenship is between $405 and $725, depending on age and family income. A green card fee is between $750 and $1,225.
Nancy Pelosi and others immediately called for an investigation into the deaths of two migrant children in Border Patrol custody, but they had zero to say and offered no sympathy when Police Officer Ronil Singh was murdered by an illegal alien. Singh was a naturalized citizen who had the misfortune to live in a sanctuary state where they favor illegals over American citizens.
As long as voters continue to elect liberals who welcome illegal aliens with open arms, we will continue to see migrant caravans flooding our border. Another one is on its way, and there is nothing here to discourage them as long as Democrats will not support a physical barrier.
