Cummins Inc. reported its fifth consecutive year of record sales and profits in 2008 despite a slumping global economy and a weak fourth quarter that saw earnings fall more than 50 percent from a year earlier.

Aimee M. Secrest, 22, daughter of Dr. Scott and Judy Secrest, and Shelly L. McKown, 20, daughter of Al and Sherri McKown, were selected from among 293 entrants to be part of the 33-member princess court for the Indianapolis 500 Festival and to compete for the festival queen title in March.

1969

The recommendation to purchase architectural paintings costing more than $15,000 to “liven up” the four stairwells of the New Southside Junior High School was presented to Bartholomew Consolidated School Board.
