Police arrest driver of stolen truck within minutes

Columbus police arrested the driver of a truck minutes after it was reported stolen.

Police were sent to the 700 block of Reed Street about a person wanting to make a stolen vehicle report shortly after noon Saturday, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

A short time later, officers saw the stolen Toyota truck near Eighth and Wilson streets. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted and officers arrested the driver, Dilian S. Ozburn, 26, of 1024 Ninth St., Harris said.

While searching Ozbun, officers found methamphetamine in one of his pants pockets and recovered two stolen cell phones, Harris said.

Ozbun was arrested on preliminary charges of theft, auto theft and possession of methamphetamine, Harris said.

Ozbun was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $70,000 bond, jail officials said.
