You can test your knowledge of American history, support young people and others and probably learn a thing or two at the free presentation of “Did You Know?” a Black History Month event at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St. in downtown Columbus. Cabrina’s Safe Haven for Kidz Ministries, along with others, will present skits, poems, songs about black inventors, writers, politicians, and other leaders through history. Light refreshments follow the event that organizer Cabrina Williams says is a way to empower young people to dream and achieve. Information: mybcpl.org.

Those with any curiosity about Columbus’ history and the city’s impact on the world at large will want to make a note of the upcoming free exhibit, “XSM: Xenia Simons Miller, A Modernist Patron of Art and Architecture.” The free exhibit opening with a reception at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at Gallery 506 celebrates Xenia Miller’s substantial contributions to Columbus’ design heritage. A recent book highlights her considerable influence on various elements of the Miller House with designers Eero Saarinen and Alexander Girard.

The IU J. Irwin Miller Masters in Architecture Founding Faculty + Staff (Art) Exhibition Part 2 will be at The Republic Building at 333 Second St. in downtown Columbus, and will feature works by Britt Brewer, Marleen Newman, Daniel Martinez, Etien Santiago, Kelly Wilson, and Rachel Wilken.
