Glen E. “Jimmy” Owens, 92 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away February 14, 2019 at his residence. He was born August 27, 1926 in Sheridan, Wyoming. He was the son of Elmer and Sara (Wells) Owens. He married Grace M. (Beatty) Owens on December 23, 1948 in Columbus, Indiana.

He is survived by his wife, son, Mark (Debbie) Owens of Edinburgh, Indiana, daughter, Glenna Parmer of Columbus, Indiana, grandchildren, Kelli J. (Kenny) Buckley of Trafalgar, Indiana, Julie Ann (Ryan) Facemire of Franklin, Indiana, and Kristopher (Shawna) Parmer of Columbus, Indiana, and great-grandchildren, Mia E. Buckley, Alixandra Parmer, and Maxxom Parmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Eugene Owens, sister, Patricia Dryden, and son-in-law, Walter Parmer, Jr.

Jimmy served in the US Navy during WWII and was in the Seabees during the Viet Nam War. He was a life member of the American Legion Past 233 in Edinburgh and was a past commander.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and driving his 1929 Model A that his grandfather bought new.

A Celebration Of Life will be from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at American Legion Post 233, 500 Memorial Drive, Edinburgh, Indiana.
