COLUMBUS
Kenneth K. Arnholt, 91, of Columbus, passed from this life at 6:42 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Four Seasons Retirement Center.
Mr. Arnholt was born, November 6, 1927, the son of Homer and Gertrude Tellman Arnholt.
Kenneth was a retired farmer and former Superintendent for the Bartholomew County Highway Department.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where he graduated from St. Peter’s Lutheran School and was a 1945 graduate of Columbus High School.
He was instrumental in starting the Lutheran food both at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds.
He enjoyed golf, shuffleboard and the 21 years he and his wife spent wintering in Florida.
He married Berneice M. Price, September 11, 1949.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 70 years; children, Joyce (Larry) Fisher, Keith (Mary) Arnholt, Garry (Jill) Arnholt and Jill (Todd) Downs all of Columbus; grandchildren, Nichole (Chad) Phillips, Scott McGuire, Eric (Lauren) Fisher, Jennifer Kissick, Kelly (Scott) Hoover, Brian (Jackie) Arnholt, Staci (Nathan) Schiefer, Becci (Brian) Duclos, Cole Arnholt, Kendra Arnholt, Kylie Arnholt and Matt (Kaitlin) Downs; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Mary Jane Hoeltke and Emily Shireman.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Mark Teike officiating.
There will be no calling hours before the service.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
