Kimberly Sue Sexton, 50, of Columbus, died unexpectedly at 3:07 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2019 while on a Carnival cruise with her family.

Kim was born April 13, 1968, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of Tyrone and Judy Cowan Baker.

She was a manager at the downtown Dairy Queen and had worked there for 32 years. Kim will be remembered as a loving mammy that enjoyed playing bingo, gambling and someone that cherished her entire family. She volunteered at V.F.W. Post 1987 for over ten years, making many friendships during that time. Mrs. Sexton was a 1986 Columbus East High School graduate. Her loving and kind nature will most certainly be missed by those that knew her.

Survivors include her children, Skyler (Chasiti Napier) Sexton, Claire Hardy; granddaughter, Audree Sexton; mother, Judy Burton; step-father, Kenneth Burton; sister, Pamela (Rob) Driver; brothers, Rob Smith, Toby (Ashley) Burton, Seth (Sandi) Burton, all of Columbus; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tyrone Baker; ex-husband, Delbert “Butch” Sexton; grandparents, Cassius (Frances) Cowan and Jim (Martha) Baker.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
