Around Town – April 3

Orchids to …

• the framers of the Constitution for designing a secular government.

• Four Seasons Retirement Center for becoming a tobacco-free campus the first of this year, from an appreciative resident.

• the local Democratic Party for upping their game and becoming a more active voice in the debate of how we want our city, our county, our state and our nation to be run.

• Stephanie at Kroger Pharmacy for the excellent customer service, from the ex-marketplace member.

• the DNR for putting the brakes on the riverfront project

Onions to …

• the United States Postal Service, for being late every day with our mail.

• the official who forgot to change the locks on the doors at the county administration building.

• the president for risking our security by overriding 25 security clearance decisions and for threatening the continuation of the Affordable Care Act.

• school bus drivers who speed and tailgate.

• city officials for wasting our money on a recreation park in the East Fork White River.

• the woman who is making Easter eggs, bringing them to church and selling them in God’s place, and to the preacher for allowing it.

• folks who can’t see the irony in a company that is pushing for a hate crimes law but practices discrimination of one of those classes and was fined for it.

• the primary care office that has a retiring doctor and can’t see a decades-old patient any longer, leaving them without a much-needed primary care physician.

Happy Birthday to …

• Susan Ketring, from your family and Donna.

• Donald Murr on No. 83, from, Jack, Donita and family.

• Debbie Malone, from your family and friends.

• Tyler Devore, from Pastor Marvin Brown and Trinity Baptist Church.

• Caylyn Pruitt, from Mrs. Erickson.
