Olympians down Bears

SHELBYVILLE — Columbus East had little trouble Monday in rolling to a 160-212 win against Shelbyville at Rivers Edge.

Kody Reynolds won medalist honors with an even-par 36 to lead the Olympians. Mark Mayhew and Adrian Adams each shot 40, Cole Schaefer added a 44 and Leyton Erfmeier had a 51.

Highlanders top Panthers

FLOYDS KNOBS — Jennings County ran into a sizzling Floyd Central team and fell 149-177 at Valley View.

Bryce Kirchner led the Panthers with a 42. Adam Leach carded a 43, Brett Silvey added a 45, Weston Miller shot 47, Joe Kelley had a 48 and Zach Bingham finished with a 50.

Eagles take third

MARTINSVILLE — Brown County finished third in a tri match at Foxcliff. Host Martinsville won with a 177 to 192 for both Indian Creek and the Eagles, with the Braves taking second on the fifth-score tiebreaker.

Parker VanNess won medalist honors with a 1-over-par 37. Curtis Lookebill carded a 44, Peyton Proctor added a 52, Cooper VanNess shot 59, Rex Watters had a 62, Camden Carlile finished with a 71 and Carter Kelly had a 72.

Panthers stop Cubs

MADISON — Jennings County scored six times in the third inning and went on to post a 7-2 Hoosier Hills Conference win at Madison.

Shelby Wilson went 2 for 3, and Kylee Matern went 2 for 4 for the Panthers (7-1, 2-0). Starting pitcher Haley Engelking and Katie Mahoney each had two RBIs.

Eagles blank Woodmen

NASHVILLE — Emma Summers threw a three-hitter with nine strikeouts to lead Brown County to a 3-0 win against Greenwood.

Adri Kritzer went 2 for 3 for the Eagles (7-0).

South Decatur falls

OLDENBURG — Oldenburg Academy scored 11 times in the first three innings and went on to hand South Decatur a 13-6 defeat.

Karah Biddinger went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and Megan Manlief went 2 for 4 with three RBIs for the Cougars (0-3).

Panthers shut out Cubs

MADISON — Jennings County won in three close sets at No. 1 singles and cruised in the other four matches in posting a 5-0 win at Madison.

Ellie Hearne beat Kourtney Neukam 6-7 (2), 6-4, 7-6 (5) at No. 1 singles, Reagan Brown downed Wiley Gross 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and Carmen Kopitzke topped Emma Lostutter 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles for the Panthers (3-0).

Jennings’ Callie Wilder and Abigail DeCamp beat Olivia Kelley and Renee Walker 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Courtney Lykins and Elizabeth Ertel downed Ana Reiff and Grace Brautigam at No. 2 doubles 6-3, 6-1.

NASHVILLE — Bloomington South won all five matches in straight sets in handing Brown County a 5-0 defeat.

Baelyn Koester fell to Maya Mills 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles for the Eagles (0-5). Julia Williams lost to Natalie Hall at No. 2 singles, and Meg Smith fell to Elenna Kim at No. 3 singles, both by 6-2, 6-0 scores.

Brown County’s Olivia Baughman and Cassidy Davis lost to Tate Blackwell and Quincey Rink 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. Grace Baughman and Hannah Asher fell to Maggie Doyle and Steffi Marvin 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.

EDINBURGH — Seymour won all five matches in straight sets in a 5-0 victory at Edinburgh.

Haley Jones fell to Sandra Cerino 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Destiney Ramey lost to Peyton Levine 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles and Sophia Parmer fell to Kirby Hill def. 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Lancers (2-3).

Edinburgh’s Emily Chappelow and Haven Link lost to Kristina Griffin and Mallory Moore 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Katie Roberts and Bethany Burton fell to Avery Ragon and Madalyn Baurle 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

Eagles rally for win

NASHVILLE — Brown County overcame an early 5-0 deficit to pull out an 8-7 win against Indianapolis Kings Homeschool.

John Wayne Ziegler went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs for the Eagles (3-4). Clay Johnson added two RBIs.

Trey Gault picked up the win in relief of Aaron McCann. Justin Partyka got out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the seventh in earn the save.
