Bull Dogs bounce Cougars
BLOOMINGTON — Tenth-ranked Columbus North dropped only one game between the three singles positions in posting a 4-1 Conference Indiana win at Bloomington North.
Ashlie Wilson beat Katy Rusche at No. 1 singles, and Eva Chevalier downed Christine Zhou at No. 2 singles, both by 6-0, 6-0 scores, and Tiffany Fu topped Siggy Force 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Bull Dogs (9-1, 1-0). Servane Cloteaux and Cassidy May beat Jade Vasquez and Madison Alfonso 6-7 (7), 6-1, (10-8) at No. 2 doubles.
Columbus North’s Shweta Srinivasan and Jaline Tay fell to Joy Bhattacharya and Izzy Flynn 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles.
Olympians edge Pirates
GREENSBURG — Columbus East swept the singles matches to claim a 3-2 win at Greensburg.
Kathryn Hodzen beat Raegan Rigney 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Megna Chari downed Ellie Acra 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Louna Prince topped Sarah Schneider 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Olympians (5-2).
East’s Ayano Nomura and Emie Kiser fell to Kirsten Fong and Bailey Menkedick 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Cathrine Millwood and Cristina Marco lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
Eagles fall to Braves
BROWNSTOWN — Brown County won the No. 1 doubles match, but that was all in a 4-1 loss at Brownstown Central.
Hannah Asher and Cassidy Davis beat Rachel Adkins and Carly Brown 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles for the Eagles (1-6).
Brown County’s Baelyn Koester fell to Olivia Hackman 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Meg Smith lost to Maggie Hogan 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Olivia Baughman fell to Riley Roberts 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Claire Dannelly and Emelia Koester lost to Abie Reynolds and Hannah Hackman 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Spartans nip Lancers
EDINBURGH — Southwestern (Shelby) won three matches in straight sets in a 3-2 Mid-Hoosier Conference win at Edinburgh.
Annelise Lollar beat Emma Engel 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Lancers (3-5, 1-1). Bethany Burton and Katie Roberts downed Shelbi Guy and Sydney Ebersold 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
Edinburgh’s Haley Jones fell to Jenna Kuntz 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Destiney Ramey lost to Abby Sweet 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Emily Chappelow and Haven Link fell to Hailey Bowman and Abby Marshall 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.
Twisters top Trinity
OLDENBURG — Oldenburg Academy won all five matches in straight sets in a 5-0 win against Trinity Lutheran.
Abby Schult fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, Sarah Lemming lost 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2 singles and Regan Cain fell 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Cougars (2-5). Lauren Fleetwood, Cassidy Burnside lost 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Katelyn Mensendiek and Bekah Brown fell 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

Columbus Christian rolls
Columbus Christian beat its second IHSAA opponent in as many games in a 12-2, five-inning decision against Rock Creek Academy.
Emmie Felde went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, Madi Blair went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs and Hannah Stair went 2 for 3 with two RBIs for the Crusaders (2-0). Emily Stair threw a six-hitter.
Tigers topple Cougars
LAWRENCEBURG — South Decatur was tied with Lawrenceburg at 1-1 after 3½ innings, but the Tigers scored four in the bottom of the fourth and went on to post a 7-2 win.
Sierra Lang had a double for the Cougars (0-7).
BASEball
Jets beat Crusaders
HOPE — A mixture of varsity and JV players from Hauser scored nine times in the first inning and went on to beat Columbus Christian 18-3 in five innings.
Parker Eickbush had three hits, including a double, and Kobe Meahl had two hits, including a double for the Jets (7-2). Landon Asher picked up the win.
The Crusaders (1-3) managed four hits.
Floyd bests Panthers
FLOYDS KNOBS — Jennings County was tied with Floyd Central at 4-4 after 5½ innings, but the Highlanders scored three times in the sixth to claim a 7-4 victory.
Josh Pettit went 3 for 4 for the Panthers (4-3) Jacob Vogel went 2 for 4.
Twisters blank Lancers
EDINBURGH — Oldenburg Academy scored six runs in the third and 10 in the fourth on its way to a 16-0, five-inning win at Edinburgh.
The Lancers (1-7) were limited to three hits.
Trinity nips Henryville
HENRYVILLE — Henryville outhit Trinity Lutheran 8-7, but the Cougars pulled out a 6-5 road win.
Trent Shoemaker had four hits, including a double, and two RBIs for the Cougars (6-4). Hunter Morgan had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs.
BOYS golf
Jets outscore Lancers
HOPE — Edinburgh’s Bladen Hancock won medalist honors with 39, but Hauser claimed a 196-221 win at Clifty Creek.
Ethan Wallace led the Jets with a career-best 41. Sam Johnson carded a 46, Justice Gilliland added a 53, Keagan Miller had a 56, Justin Stafford and Daniel Taylor each shot 59 and Ben Johnson finished with a 67.
Jordan Myers and Travis Jones each shot 60 for the Lancers. Darius Bennett added a 62, and Parker Neumann had a 65.
Eagles pick up win
NASHVILLE — Parker VanNess won medalist honors with a 38 to lead Brown County to a 182-223 win against Brownstown Central at Salt Creek.
Curtis Lookebill carded a 42. Peyton Proctor carded a 50 Cooper VanNess added a 52, Rex Watters shot 58, Paul Kleppe had a 58, Seth Oliphant finished with a 70 and Jesse Addington had a 72.
Trinity posts victory
SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran posted a 182 at Shadowood to beat Henryville, which did not have enough golfers to score as a team.
Jacob Keith and Jacob Sabotin each shot 44 to tie for medalist honors and lead the Cougars. Mark Shoemaker carded a 45, Kade Hill added a 49, Ryland Nierman shot 50, Caleb Williams had a 51, Josiah Foster finished with a 52 and Preston Kovener had a 65.
TRACK AND FIELD
Hauser girls second
HOPE — Hauser’s girls finished second and boys third in a tri meet at Hauser.
Waldron edged the Jets 59-57 1/2 in the girls meet, while Triton Central took third with 36½. The Triton Central boys won with 71 points to 52 for Waldron and 36 for Hauser.
Grace Isley led the Jet girls with wins in the long jump (15 feet, 4 inches) and 100 meters 12.9 seconds). Ashley Chambers took the 400 (1:00.8), Marnie Schwarzkopf captured the 800 (2:38), Mel Hasler won the 200 (28.9) and Hauser took the 4×100 (55.7) and 4×400 (4:49) relays.
Winners for the Jet boys were John Bragg in the high jump (6-2), Ryan Ault in the 1,600 (5;02), Emils Vigants in the 400 (53.8) and Forest Steele in the 300 hurdles (49.9).
