Patriotism will take center stage at the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic’s annual free Salute concert that attracts several thousand people to the lawn of the Bartholomew County Memorial For Veterans in downtown Columbus. The gathering is slated for 7 p.m. May 24 as a way to honor those who died while in military service, and those who are currently serving or have served in the military. The event often has unfolded as an emotional-but-fun celebration of a nation celebrating freedom and unity. Information: thecip.org.
