COLUMBUS
Richard “Dick” Boyd, 88, of Columbus, passed from this life at 2:47 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Boyd was born September 18, 1930 in Bartholomew County, the son of Edgar A. and Ethel L. Linke Boyd.
Dick retired from Cummins Engine Company after 35 years of service.
Mr. Boyd was a member of the American Legion Post 24, Columbus Moose Lodge 398 and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
He married Barbara M. Decker November 19, 1955, she preceded him in death May 17, 2012.
Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly R. Boyd of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a brother, Ralph Boyd; and sisters, Nancy Carmichael, Mable Demola, Mildred Kemp and Glada Bula.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating.
Family and friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday and noon to time of service.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
