Columbus firefighters at scene of business fire on State Street

Columbus firefighters were called to Columbus Import Auto Parts, 1877 State St., at about 10:36 a.m. this morning about smoke in the building.

Firefighters said light smoke was coming from the building when they arrived.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire in an isolated part of the building, said Capt. Mike Wilson, Columbus Fire Department spokesman. There was smoke damage in the building, he said. Firefighters also had to breach a door in order to put out the fire, he said.

The fire department requested additional officers from the Columbus Police Department to direct traffic away from the fire scene.
