A local man was arrested on Saturday after he was accused of breaking out windows in a Columbus church.
Columbus police were sent to the East Columbus United Methodist Church, 2439 Indiana Ave., at 3:50 p.m. Saturday about the windows being broken, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
After arriving at the church, the officers could hear the sound of breaking glass, Harris said. Officers located a man holding a rock who was bleeding from his head and hands, Harris said.
The man, identified as Trinidad J. Padilla, 54, Columbus, was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital and later to the Bartholomew County Jail, where he was held on preliminary charges of criminal mischief and criminal trespass.
