The annual Memorial Day service, usually held at Bartholomew County Veterans Memorial, was moved inside City Hall because of rain.

1994

Arched, deep red streetlights were placed along Fifth Street between Mill Race Park and downtown, the last step in the city’s massive Streetscape plan.

1969

An electrical power transformer blew out when a boy threw copper wire onto electrical lines, blacking out a large portion of the north side of Columbus for several hours.
