I-65 reconstruction traffic switch set for Friday
A traffic switch and bridge closure are scheduled this weekend and early next week as part of the I-65 reconstruction project in Bartholomew and Jackson counties.
E&B Paving Inc. will switch traffic on I-65 northbound beginning at mile marker 61, south of State Road 58 (Walesboro) in Bartholomew County, Friday night.
Northbound traffic will move to newly constructed concrete pavement on the northbound side of I-65 at mile marker 61 and continue through the project limits near mile marker 64.
The median lane and shoulder will remain closed while additional work is completed. Southbound lanes will also remain restricted until median work is complete.
County Road 800N will close over I-65 in Jackson County, beginning Monday for bridge rehabilitation. The road will close for approximately 55 days and is expected to reopen by late September.
The detour for the closure is North County Road 1000E to County Road 700N to U.S. 31.
