Isabel De Jesus Gutierrez, 100, of Columbus, died at 1:42 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2019, at her home.
Isabel was born November 8, 1918 in Jinotega, Nicaragua, the daughter of Jacinto and Isabel Lopez.
Isabel was a teacher and farmer. She loved gardening, crochet and travel. Traveling was her favorite thing to do. It was said of Isabel, that upon returning home from a long trip she would immediately begin planning her next one. Isabel was once asked, “What is your secret to living to be 100?” She replied, “Don’t worry, love everyone and never be angry.” Isabel will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Father Chris Wadelton will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorials may be made to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
Survivors include a daughter, Agnes Miranda of Columbus; sons, Alvaro Gutierrez of Edinburgh and Felix E. Gutierrez of Miami, FL; Nephews, Edwin Rizo of Modesto, CA and Luciano Pong-Pack of Santa Monica, California; grandchildren, Tess Miranda and Caesar Miranda both of Columbus and Phaedra Miranda of San Juan, Puerto Rico
She was preceded in death by her parents, sons: Felix Enrique and Ricardo Ivan.
