
The Columbus Speedway Go-Kart Racing hosted 65 entries for the 2019 Bartholomew County 4-H Fair Race on Monday. Columbus racers captured eight of the 11 events that were ran.
Leading the Columbus contingent was Johnny Smith with two wins (yamaha and rwyb divisions). Other Columbus drivers winning in their respective classes were T.J. Garris (clone 400), Brandon Malone (vintage), Elijah Knoke (jr. 1), Jacob Chadd (rookie), Colton Lucas (flathead 365) and Greg Prewitt (ped 212).
The other divisions were taken by Corey Vanover of Memphis (clone 340), Chris Buchanan of Versailles (clone 380) and Travis Wilburn of Milan (sumo 425).
The next event will be on July 20.
Cain wins at Terre Haute
Tyler Cain of Seymour won the pro late model feature on Wednesday at Terre Haute Action Track. Other winners were Nick Bilbee in the MSCS sprints and Will Krup in the open wheel modifieds.
Twin Cities results
Marty O’Neal won the crate late model feature on July 6 at Twin Cities Raceway Park in Vernon. Following O’Neal across the finish line were Tyler Cain, Joey Kramer, Tyler Collins and John Gill.
Branden Carr won the Mark Clark Memorial Race for super stocks. Randy Petro came home in second, with Austin Burton, Doug McCullough and Danny Hupp trailing.
Jacoby Hines took the modified feature race over Trent Green, Lee Hobbs, Dan Lewellen and Brad Wieck.
Bryson Clark grabbed the pure stock main event taking the win over Mickey Hines, Troy Clark, Brent McMillan and Daniel Hupp.
The hornet feature race was taken by Andy Anderson over Jamie Laufer, Bryce Burton, Dylan Wheeler and Warren Laufer.

Miles wins at Brownstown
Shelby Miles won the “Born Free 40” for super late models on July 6 at Brownstown Speedway. Dean Carpenter finished in second, followed by Jackie Boggs, Dustin Linville and Jason Jameson.
Brayden Watson was victorious in the open wheel modified feature over Earl Plessinger, Tim Rivers, Chad Combs and Jimmy Haager.
Matt Boknecht won the super stock main event over Jamey Wilson, Tim Eddelman, Derek Clegg and Aubrey Mounce.
Rick Gumm extended his pure stock feature win streak to 19 as he won the feature event. He was followed by Zachary Stalker, Josh Hayes, Jeremy Huebner and Donnie Wilson.

Stremme takes Lawrenceburg
Former NASCAR driver David Stremme won the Merrill Downey Memorial for modifieds on July 6 at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Stremme beat Matt Hamilton to the finish line, with Brian Gray, Victor Lee and James Rice trailing.
In the late model feature, it was Josh Rice winning the main event over Joe Brewer, Dustin Nobbe, Trevor Landrum and Jesse Lay.

Paragon results
Josh Cunningham won the sprint car feature on July 4 at Paragon Speedway. Jake Scott finished second, followed by Brandon Morin, David Truax and Steve Hair.
Tyler Neal won the super stock feature race over Bryce Shidler, Josh Boller, Daniel Norman and Justin Massie.
Richie Lex grabbed the modified feature race over James Walters, Stan Beadles and Jeff Deckard.

From 60 years ago this weekend in 1959, Bobby Baker won the feature race at Columbus Speedway.
From 50 years ago in 1969 at Brownstown, the feature winner was Don Hobbs over Jerry Brinegar, Pete Willoughby, Gary Warthen and John Warner.
From 40 years ago this weekend in 1979 at Brownstown, it was Ira Bastin winning the late model feature race over Noel Witcher, Dennis Boknecht, Bob Fleetwood and Steve Trabue. Jack Taylor won the hobby stock feature over Roger Hehman, Cooley Singer, Doc Jewell and Steve Rollins.
Also, from 1979 at Twin Cities, Pete Willoughby won the late model feature eover Carl Collins, Doug Ault, Bud Seymour and Gene Webber. Willie Sallee won the street stock feature over Bearcat Chaplin, Paul Reeves and Butch Beckman.
From 30 years ago in 1989, Ira Bastin won the late model feature at Brownstown over Jim Curry, Lee Fleetwood, Mike Gibbs and Noel Witcher. Mark Barber took the street stock feature over Joe Johnson, Tom Seadler, Scott Patman and Gary Green. The two bomber feature winners were Don Fleetwood and Tom Allman.
From 1989 at Twin Cities, Daryl Herbert won the late model feature over Terry Eaglin and James Huff.
Scott McKeand won his 10th street stock feature of the year over Jeff Daugherty and Tim Clark. Mark Bruce won the bomber main event over Steve Walp and Eddie Kindred.
From this weekend in 1999 at Paragon Speedway, Kenny Carmichael and Stephen Surniak won the sprint car feature races with Bob Franklin taking the street stock feature and Jerry Donica nabbing the bomber main.
From 20 years ago in 1999 at Bloomington Speedway, the sprint car feature was won by Derek Scheffel over Justin Marvel, Kenny Carmichael, Jonathan Vennard and Pete Abel. Gary Trammell won the modified feature event over John DeMoss, Jack Taylor, John Davis and Brian Campbell. Lee Hobbs was victorious in the street stock feature over Gregg O’Neill, Steve Hunt, Perry Bruce and Terry Arthur.
Also, from 1999 at Lawrenceburg, Don O’Neal won the late model feature race over Tony Stewart, Troy Green, Scott James and Matt Gilardi. Kerry Norris took the modified feature eover Gary Burton, Ron Jolliff Jr., Tom Doerflein and David McWilliams.
At Twin Cities in 1999, Joey Kramer won the street stock feature race over Joe Johnson, Dave Barnett, Colin Vaughn and Donnie Wilson. Mickey Hines took the top honors in the bomber feature over Darrell Burton, Bob Johnson and Willie Sallee. Phil Fultz won the mini-stock feature race over A.J. Bright, Rob Snow, Seth Hull and Bill Lucas.
