ONE HOUR
Family School Partners: In need of volunteers to provide homework help for children in grades kindergarten through eighth grade in the Taylorsville area once a week. This is open while school is in session. Especially needing volunteers that are good with math and reading skills. Dates of project: 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays at Driftside Manufactured Housing clubhouse, 13540 U.S. 31 in Taylorsville, and 3 to 4 p.m. at Heritage Heights, 2895 Henry Lakes Blvd. in Taylorsville. TWO HOURS
Salvation Army: Seeking volunteers to assist at Gleaners Food Banks trucks food distribution sites from 1 to 3 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at Cummins Fuel Systems, 1460 N. National Road, and 10 a.m. to noon the second Friday of the month at the Salvation Army office, 2525 Illinois Ave., in Columbus. Time Commitment: 2 hours per location. THREE HOURS
Columbus Bike Co-Op: Twelve volunteers of all skill-levels including bike mechanics needed to help Earn-a-Bike participants build bikes, help people who come in to do repairs, fix shop bikes, scrap old bikes, be a greeter or a monitor during shop hours, and help with local events such as valet bike parking at the downtown Columbus Farmers Market. Location: Doug Otto Center, 1531 13th St., No. B100, Columbus. Hours: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Time commitment: 3 hours every month.
