A North Vernon man who was wanted on a Bartholomew County warrant was arrested after he gave a false name to Columbus police officers.

Officers were sent to an apartment in the 4000 block of North County Road 150W at 7:30 p.m. Thursday about a loud music complaint, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. After officers arrived, they saw Larry R. Evans, 23, North Vernon, outside a nearby apartment, Harris said.

Officers spoke with Evans who falsely identified himself, Harris said. The officers determined that the man was Evans and confirmed the warrant for his arrest.

Evans was arrested on a preliminary charge of false informing and the warrant, Harris said.
