Golfer records hole-in-one in Par 3 Scramble

A hole-in-one on No. 16 at Par 3 Golf Course sparked a threesome to a Par 3 Scramble victory.

Chase Elwood aced the 92-yard 16th using a 56-degree wedge. Elwood teamed with Louie Green and Will Mayhew to shoot a 5-under-par 22 for nine holes.

Panthers win invitational

Jennings County Middle School’s boys opened the season with a victory in their Blue and White Invitational. The Panthers scored 35 points to 47 for runner-up St. Peter’s.

Sam Fewell led Jennings with a second-place finish in 12 minutes, 56 seconds. Elijah Hatton took third in 12:58, while Zach Wahlman was sixth in 13:24, Brock Maschino 11th in 13:45 and Riley Allman 13th in 14:28.

The Panthers had two girls runners. Justine Jones finished 13th in 16:45, and Sarah Poole was 25th in 19:24.

Jennings sweeps Pirates

Jennings County’s seventh- and eighth-graders picked up their first wins of the season by sweeping Greensburg on Thursday.

The seventh-graders (1-1) won 25-20, 25-11. Kennedy Day served 16 points, including three aces; and Mallory Manowitz added eight points, including three aces.

The Panther eighth-graders were victorious 25-20, 25-15. Julian Woodard led Jennings (1-1) with seven kills and 10 points, while Charlee Barlow added four kills and four aces.

Panthers blank Raiders

Jennings County Middle School opened its season Monday with a 7-0 shutout of South Ripley.

Christian Hernandez scored two goals for the Panthers. Alayna Phillips recorded two saves.
