COLUMBUS
Larry Wayne Collins, 71, of Columbus, died at 7:00 a.m., August 23, 2019, at his residence.
Larry was born April 7, 1948 in Benham, Kentucky, the son of Nathan Ked Collins and Mable (Burkhart) Collins. He married Joyce Anderson on December 15, 1965.
Larry was a member of Faith Victory Church and Northwest Masonic Lodge #770 F&A.M. Larry was an Army veteran and retired from International Harvester (Navistar International) after 35 years of service. He loved fishing, hunting and worshiping the lord. Larry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Pastor Mark Owings officiating. Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be one hour of calling prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery with military rites provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Victory Church through the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Collins; sons, Larry W. Collins Jr. of Columbus, and Jeffrey Wayne (Sheila) Collins of Columbus; a daughter, Donna Michelle Carbajal of Indianapolis; sister, Judy Fields of Cumberland, KY; grandchildren, James Collins, Brittani Collins and Emily Collins; a great grandchild, Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Ked Collins; mother, Mable Burkhart Smith; brothers, Harold Fields and Mike Fields; sisters, Marie Sue Collins and Gail Brewer.
