Eagle girls finish second
SHELBYVILLE — Brown County girls placed second in a tri meet at Greensburg on Monday. The Panthers scored 25 points to 31 for the Eagles, while Shelbyville did not have enough runners to score as a team.
Abby Fleetwood led Brown County with a second-place finish in 20 minutes, 16 seconds for 5,000 meters (3.1 miles). Emelia Koester took fifth in 21:39, while Emma DeBord was seventh (22:34), Hadley Grataulf ninth (22:59) and Maris Wyman 14th (26:03).
The Eagle boys finished third with 56 points. Greensburg outscored Shelbyville 29-35 for first.
Brown County’s Chase Austin finished second in 18:08. Cameron Fox took 12th in 19:48, while Rafe Silbaugh was 13th (19:49), Waylon Patrick 14th (19:54) and Rhett Silbaugh 15th (20:50).
Trinity individuals compete
BEDFORD — Trinity Lutheran had three girls and two boys runners compete in the Bedford North Lawrence Invitational.
Sadie Nay finished 27th in the girls race in 26:52, while Mya Nay was 29th (27:02) and Bryanna Bailey 65th (35:43). For the boys, Jordan Peters took 136th (26:54) and Evan Hunt 142nd (28:22).

Cougars notch first win
MADISON — South Decatur picked up its first win of the season, a 25-13, 25-12, 25-12 victory against Madison Shawe.
Lily Rigby led the Cougars (1-6) with six digs and seven aces. Lana Bell pounded seven kills, Whitnye Burton recorded 13 assists, Brook Somers had a block and Kalie Fry tallied six digs.
Also for South Decatur, Somers added five kills and three assists, Rigby notched three assists, Bell and Burton each had five digs and Bell and Fry each served four aces.
Suburban sweeps Hawks
INDIANAPOLIS — The Columbus Hawks came close in the first set, but fell 25-23, 25-5, 25-16 at Suburban Christian.
Sarah Lorimor recorded two kills and three aces, and Elisabeth White had two kills and eight digs to lead the Hawks (2-3). McKiah Shearer notched four assists.
Also for the Hawks, Lila Hudson pounded two kills, and Haley Arnold tallied two digs. White and Hailey Beth Rutledge each served one ace.

Bulldogs top Panthers
NEW ALBANY — Jennings County’s Sophia Curry tied for medalist honors with a 45, but the Panthers fell to the New Albany 194-222 at Valley View.
Ellie Hearne carded a 49 for Jennings. Emy Ralston added a 62, Abby Rowlett shot 66 and Lavanna Rickly had a 70.
