Fire destroys home on city’s north side

A house fire early Saturday morning, Sept. 21, 2019, destroyed a vacant home that was being remodeled, located at 810 Rocky Ford Road.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A fire destroyed a vacant home that was being remodeled on Columbus’ north side.

Columbus firefighters responded to a residential fire at 810 Rocky Ford Road at about 3:31 a.m. today after a passerby called 911 and advised the Emergency Operations Center dispatchers that a home was engulfed in flames, said Capt. Mike Wilson, spokesman for Columbus Fire Department.

The property is owned by Homes By Kenno LLC, according to online Bartholomew County property records, Wilson said.
