
GREENWOOD — Two of the state’s best girls soccer teams combined to score 23 goals at the Center Grove Sectional on Tuesday.
Now the host Trojans and Columbus North will see how they do against each other.
Center Grove, ranked No. 8 in Class 3A, had seven different players score a goal in defeating Greenwood 12-0 in the opening game. The night matchup saw 11th-ranked Columbus North eliminate Whiteland from the postseason with an 11-0 victory.
Thursday’s 5 p.m. first semifinal is a rematch of the season-opener in which Center Grove won 4-1 at North. The nightcap has Columbus East facing Franklin.

The Bull Dogs scored all 11 of their goals in the first half. Jenna Lang scored three times, while freshman Lauren Barker added two. The goals were provided by, in order, KJ Ely, Laney Moore, Nadia Zaborowski, Marely Olguin, Emily Kleinhelter and Erin Rawlins.
Lauryn Whitley recorded five assists for North. Barker had two assists, while Caroline Hollenkamp, Lang and Helena Ho each added one.
The Bull Dogs (14-2) outshot the Warriors 25-0.
