Bill Maze, 79, of Columbus, passed away on October 9, 2019 at 11:15 p.m. at his home.

Bill was born February 23, 1940 in Columbus, Indiana, son of Clinton and Estella Maze.

Bill graduated from Columbus North High School, then received a Bachelor of Science at Indiana University.

He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Bill retired from Cummins Engine Company after many years of service as an International Service Manager. He took great pride in his employment and enjoyed the opportunity to travel the world and meeting people from various countries.

Bill was not one to remain idle; while working at Cummins full time, he also was a volunteer firefighter with East Columbus Fire Department and was even the Chief for several years. Bill also was a photographer and took thousands of wedding pictures over the years. Bill served on the Columbus Township Trustee Advisory Board. In his “spare” time, he enjoyed watercolor painting and was an avid wood carver and was a member of the Hoosier Carving Club. He loved telling a good joke and admired his grandchildren. Bill enjoyed strumming the guitar and singing.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Daune; his brother, Bob Maze of Florida; his daughter, Andrea of Ohio; and son, Todd of North Carolina. Bill had four grandchildren, Brianna Joo, Corissa Spence, Gabrielle Maze and Jackson Maze and two great-grandchildren, Riley Joo and Henry Joo.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bonnie Anderson.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation is planned. There will be no service.
