• Dana and staff at Walmart Vision Center, for great customer service and going the extra mile to expedite a back-order for contacts.

• the Banister Family for another entertaining evening at Mill Race Center to raise money for Meals on Wheels.

• the gentleman who often sits on his swing and waves to drivers and other passersby near the People Trail at the southwest corner of the airport property — a small gesture that never fails to bring a smile.

• our president for not being like the recent ones.

• Wendy Elwood for caring about and helping the shelter animals in the community.

• Rhonda Bolner, of the Joseph Hart DAR chapter, for all of her support and help with my DAR enrollment, from Katea Ravega.

• President Trump for his policies that have led to this booming economy.

• Joyce for buying our lunch and the good conversation, from Sandy and Ann.

• Don Strietelmeier for the letter to the editor on Thursday supporting Sheriff Myers, which was right on.

• Bev Addis for getting at grateful grandfather a copy of the Bulldog Bulletin at the North football game last Friday night.

• Jordan Maley for getting on at Columbus Fire Department, because we are very proud of him and hope that it goes a long way for him, from Cindy and Dorothy.

• local farmer Don Strietelmeier for another spot-on, common-sense letter about the issues of the day.

• Michael Greven and Matt Meyers for giving me hope that Christian believers still believe to love your neighbor.

• Don Strietelmeier who rightly describes the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League.

Onions to …

• red-light runners and red-light turners who collide in intersections, disrupting traffic for law-abiders.

• people who cry victim when they are held accountable for the things they do.

• those that don’t realize that sometimes you just have to wait to turn right when traffic ahead of you is waiting at a red light.

• whoever thinks this booming economy has anything to do with the previous administration.

• the bus driver speeding down 14th Street in a residential area.

• the person that left the innocent little girl who was a few hours old in Seymour.

• the gray Chevy Traverse who did a U-turn at the intersection of Griffa Avenue and 25th Street, never using a turn signal.

• anyone who believes the Southern Poverty Law Center is a reliable source of information.
