Around Town – October 30

Orchids to …

• all those who sent texts and birthday cards, called or stopped me on the street to say happy birthday, from John Tinkey.

• teachers who are going to Indy Nov. 19 to demonstrate to lawmakers the importance of making public education a priority.

• Amy at Westside Walmart For making sure I got my $40.

• Jason Lambert for his well-written, touching and insightful letter about ending the stigma of addiction.

• the school bus driver that stayed at the intersection and watched to make sure a little girl that was crying got home.

• the East men’s soccer team for a fantastic season.

• Michael Shireman for the Kokomo Grain cap, from John Tinkey.

Onions to …

• the letter writer that only seems concerned with our national debt when it comes to Democrats wanting to provide health care to all but said nothing when lawmakers, including Republicans blew up the deficit.

• those for the truck junkyard on east 25th Street in a row of nice houses.

• people leaving a retail store and turning left onto 10th Street who see no reason to yield to those leaving another retail store who are turning right onto 10th Street.

• the president whose ego will not allow him to celebrate the death of the ISIS leader without insisting it was “much bigger” than the death of Osama bin Laden.

• the cable news channel host who attacked Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, a top Ukraine expert.

• anyone who doesn’t realize that the so-called Ukraine scandal is just dirty politics conducted by sore losers.

• all the people downtown that don’t seem to know that you don’t cross a road when the hand is up on the flasher at the crosswalk.

Happy Birthday to …
