
SEYMOUR
“Pop” Haeseley, 88 of Seymour, was called to heaven at 1:17 p.m. October 20, 2019, from his home.
He was born October 17,1931 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Charles and Bessie Morton Haeseley.
He married his beloved Rennie on February 23, 1992.
Together they traveled to many places, but rarely alone. They loved taking their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the beach, amusement parks, county fairs and cheering them on at their sporting events.
Pop enjoyed attending the Veteran’s Day program, which his great-grandkids participate in and include him in every year at Mt. Healthy Elementary School, where he drove a school bus for several years.
He enjoyed riding his Harley around the country and was a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association, Blue Knights and A.B.A.T.E.
Pop served his country for a total of 50 years in the United States Marines, the United States Army, and Indiana National Guard, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. He was a retiree of the New Albany Fire Department and the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department. He was founder of Jack Haeseley and Sons Electric Company.
He volunteered with Southwest Bartholomew Fire and Rescue and American Red Cross. He was a member of White Creek United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday November 17 at White Creek Methodist Cemetery with Military honors provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Southwest Fire and Rescue 8500 S. State Road 58 Columbus, IN 47201 In Memory of Jack.
Pop is survived by his daughters, Alice (Lee) Ostrander and Janie (Thomas Brooks) Luecke, of Columbus, Karmann Elashawa of New Albany and Connie (Peter) Wood of South Carolina; sons, Richard (Earlene) Haeseley, Brian (Velinda) Haeseley and Justen (Meranda) Haeseley, of New Albany; 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and sister Mary Underwood.
Pop was preceded in death by his wife, Rennie on June 23, 2019; his parents; sister, Bonnie Parker; brother Richerd Frietzshe; sons, Jackie Haeseley and Mike Luecke.
