Around Town – November 5

Orchids to …

• Dr. Witt and Hillary at Hope Vet Clinic for all of your concern, time and help with Macie on Saturday, taking time in your full schedule to take such great care of her, as you always do; your compassion is like no other, from Macie’s family.

• Dr. Stephen Brueggemann and surgery eye team nurses, Jenny, Bethany, Rhonda, Connie and Mary for the excellent care, from Margaret E.

• Eric who works at the west side Walmart at the deli counter for his attention to detail, being pleasant and dealing with customers, from Dennis.

• Chuck and Brenda Fleetwood, for always being here for our family and doing whatever needs to be done, from Aunt Lindy.

• Konnor at First Financial Bank for always being so helpful and kind — it’s much appreciated, from Roberta Brougher.

Onions to …

• whoever thinks celebrating what was an illegal activity of the 1920s as a fundraiser is a good idea.

• those responsible for destroying the wooded area on the northeast corner of the intersection of I-65 and State Road 46.

• Republicans who keep attacking the process because they can’t defend the White House.

• those who confuse the rules used by the GOP to impeach Clinton with Russian tactics; following the law is not a coup.

• those in charge for selecting so-called experts of inclusion for ignoring red flags.

• a fire department for continuing to use the term “firemen” instead of “firefighter” — not only is it sexist but shows a preference for male applicants instead of anyone who can do the job.

• Democrats who have no idea what to do if President Trump leaves office.

• local politicians who take out-of-state money and use out-of-state businesses.

• the bizarre claim that President Obama was the worst president when he is considered by many to be one of our very best.

• the community for not having the same excitement for saving the Crump Theatre as they do for lining up at a local restaurant.

• those who want to tear down the Crump, obviously you have do not have good childhood memories or you are from out of town.

• whoever is responsible for making Hillcrest Road a gravel road instead a chip-and-fill road.

• my ex-friend who borrowed my truck and ran into a deer and still has not fixed my truck in over a year and a half.

• this administration; I don’t even see how his own Republicans could like him.

• the city council candidate who exploits my privacy by spamming me with text messages.

• the person who cut the catalytic converter off our church van.

• the city of Columbus and anyone who thinks that the Crump Theater should be torn down, the Crump is a historic staple in this community and needs to be brought back to life instead of being left empty to rot.

• grandparents who pick favorites, leaving confused kids heartbroken.

• those that don’t realize it takes a lot of unpaid volunteers to make an old movie theater a success, which the Artcraft in Franklin has, but it’s more doubtful that the Crump ever would.

• the columnist who is repeatedly spreading false doctrine.

• anyone who thinks a civil war is being supported by anyone other than people who believe the president can break the laws of the Constitution.

• anyone who thinks the president should be impeached — he’s done more than Obama ever did for this country.
