COLUMBUS, INDIANA
JoAnn Kiel, 58, of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 6:24 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
JoAnn was born March 15, 1961, in Seymour, Indiana, the loving daughter of Ronald W. and Betty Joan Jones Kiel.
JoAnn was a 1979 graduate of Columbus East High School. She then started a 40 year career with Marvin Johnson and Associates. She began as a customer service representative and currently was the office manager.
JoAnn attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Columbus.
JoAnn is survived by her brother, Scott D. Kiel and his wife, Beth of Fishers, Indiana; a niece, Sarah Kiel of Zionsville, Indiana; a nephew, Tyler Kiel and his wife, Katie of Indianapolis; aunts, Doris Jones of Toledo, Ohio and Marita Kiel of Seymour, Indiana; an uncle, Kenneth Kiel of Columbus; and several cousins.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Joan Kiel, December 19, 1999; her father, Ronald W. Kiel, March 6, 2009; grandparents, Walter and Alvina Kiel and Arthur and Mary Catherine Jones; aunts, Carol Sue Jones and Carol Kiel; and an uncle, Lowell Kiel.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; the Reverend Mark Teike will officiate.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
JoAnn will be laid to rest with her parents at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Jonesville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of her mother or the American Lung Association in memory of her father.
