Crusaders down Eagles
Columbus Christian jumped out to a 46-24 halftime lead, then put up 31 points in the third quarter on its way to a 91-72 win against Christel House Academy Tuesday night.
“It was a good win,” Columbus Christian coach Kevin Roth said. “We got off to a quick start and pressured them a little bit and got them to turn it over a little bit.”
Gabe Ridder led the Crusaders (7-19) with 26 points. Jacob Conrad scored 15, and C.J. Reed and Josh Jones each added 14.
Columbus Christian outrebounded the Golden Eagles 38-30 and shot shot 61.0 percent (36 for 59) from the field.
“At the beginning of the year, we were shooting a lot of 3’s, and we’ve been concentrating on getting the ball to the basket and scoring that way,” Roth said. “We kind of got some confidence back for Gabe.”
