Noah Lykins // Columbus East sophomore wrestler
Lykins won his first-round match by pin and his semifinal and final matches by technical fall Saturday to capture the 113-pound weight class and lead the Olympians to the team title at the Jeffersonville Regional.
His performance last week: “I probably could have done a lot better in some of my matches. I just need to be more mentally tough and flip a switch and go out and get bonus points.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I kind of just bounce around a little bit. I try not to wear myself out or anything.”

Bailey Tabeling // Trinity Lutheran freshman basketball player
Tabeling hit a last-second 3-pointer and led the Cougars with 21 points in a 56-55 first-round win over Edinburgh. She then led Trinity with 36 in a 62-36 semifinal win over Crothersville and 16 in a 47-38 win over the host team in the West Washington Sectional final.
Her performance last week: “I think Tuesday, we could have come out stronger, but I’m glad we came out with a win. Then Crothersville, we played as a team. Then West Washington, it was a physical game and we came through as a team together.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I try to just eat good food and get plenty of water and Gatorade in me and make sure I’m healthy for the game.”

Favorite food: “Boneless wings”
Favorite class: “Math”
Favorite sports team: “Kentucky”

Role model: “My sister Brittany.”
Best advice: “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.”
Athletics goal: “For this year, my goal is to go to state with the team, but overall, to play D-I in college.”
