JENNINGS COUNTY — Troopers with the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post arrested a 21 year old Jennings County man Thursday on charges of child molesting and child solicitation.
The investigation by Detective Andrew Mitchell began when allegations of child molesting were made against Jon W. Anthony of North Vernon.
During the course of the investigation, Mitchell was able to determine Anthony allegedly molested a child under the age of 14 at a location in Jackson County, according to a news release from Sgt. Stephen Wheeles.
The investigation also found Anthony had contacted a second child under the age of 14 on social media and attempted to solicit the child for sexual contact.
The investigation ultimately led to a Jackson Circuit Court warrant being issued for Anthony, who was arrested without incident at his home.
He was booked into the Jackson County Jail at Brownstown at 1:27 p.m. Thursday and was being held without bond pending his court initial appearance.
In addition to those charges, an additional warrant out of Jennings County was issued Friday for Anthony.
That warrant accuses him of two additional counts of child molesting and one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, state police said.
The new charges stem from the same investigation where Anthony is accused of contacting underage victims on social media stating he was a hair stylist and wanted to meet them to cut their hair, state police said. Anthony then allegedly had inappropriate contact with the victims when they met, state police said.
The new warrant was served on Anthony while he remains incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
