Around Town – February 26

Orchids to …

• the kind, thoughtful couple who helped me pick up the many cans from the CANstruction project at Fair Oaks Mall on Monday.

• Michael Sciano, for his excellent letter describing a platform on which any candidate for county council could win.

• those that sacrifice their lives to protect us from crime, from John Tinkey.

• to the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. leadership for all the good work they do on behalf of our children.

• Indiana’s Rep. Greg Pence and Sen. Todd Young for honoring Marines who fought in the battle of Iwo Jima.

Onions to …

• the school district asking taxpayers for more money when they have given their administrators hefty raises.

• the administration for continuing a push to eliminate women’s rights to govern their own bodies.

• people for wanting to change the Second Amendment Sanctuary decision, otherwise known as “ Let it go.”

• those who don’t realize that unless an event has reserved seating, one can sit just about anywhere they like.

• those who aren’t aware that one can change their seat at a movie if they later don’t like where they are sitting.

• those who want sanctuary for guns but not for human beings.

• those who arrive late for an event and want to be rewarded for that by having me move from my chosen early arrival seat on the aisle.

• the party who is worried about Russian interference in our election but adopts someone who honeymooned in Moscow, Russia during the Cold War and is a declared socialist as their candidate.

• the stable genius, whose incompetence is on display daily, and who now assures us that the coronavirus is “under control.”

• the relative who stole from me and lied about it and who also says she is going to church and saying prayers about me and my feelings about it.

• coaches who make kids have track practice in the cold rain.

• those who are still making unfounded charges against a certain stable genius despite his many accomplishments for the country.

• all the people out there who are afraid of socialism when we are already a socialist country.
